Succes story: From refrigerators to green hydrogen

Othman Kerroumi, a PoliTO student originally from Morocco, has embarked on a remarkable journey in the decarbonization sector, under the sponsorship of MAHTEP Head Professor Laura Savoldi and Claudio Mascialino, CEO of H2Energy.

His interest in engineering sparked during his early days in Italy, where prior to his studies, he worked on an assembly line for refrigerators. This experience piqued his curiosity about how things worked, leading him to pursue engineering studies.

Othman's academic path was marked by long commutes and dedicated study sessions.

His hard work and determination caught the attention of his professor, Laura Savoldi, who recognized his potential and connected him with H2Energy. Impressed by Othman's hands-on experience and academic prowess, Claudio Mascialino hired him in 2022. Othman graduated in October that year, presenting a thesis that addressed a mechanical gap he identified in plant design.

Currently, Othman serves as a project engineer at H2Energy, a pioneering Italian company in industrial-scale green hydrogen production. Looking ahead, he sees potential in collaborating with Morocco, a country already investing in hydrogen, to further H2Energy's goals and his own professional ambitions in creating a climate-neutral society.
