Cammi Antonio

Antonio Cammi obtained his Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan with the highest honors (100/100 'cum laude') for his thesis on Passive Safety Systems in LWRs. Subsequently, he earned a Ph.D. in Radiation Science and Technology (also from the Polytechnic University of Milan) with a thesis on Safety, Dynamics, and Control of Innovative Nuclear Reactors. Since January 2005, he has served as a Researcher at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He later became an Associate Professor (still at the Polytechnic University of Milan), a position he has held since June 2015. In 2015, he obtained national scientific qualification as a full professor in the competitive sector 09/C2 (Technical Physics and Nuclear Engineering). Furthermore, he was a "Guest Professor" at Harbin Engineering University in China from July 2020 to July 2023 and was appointed as an "Adjunct Professor" at the same university starting from July 2023.

Antonio Cammi's primary research activities include:

  • Developing innovative projects for nuclear systems and components (ADS, IRIS, ELSY, SURE, CFR, ALFRED, MSFR, DEMO).
  • Developing innovative control strategies for power plants.
  • Developing new methods and techniques (multi-physics modeling approach, use of reduced models, object-oriented simulators) to analyze next-generation nuclear reactors (fission and fusion).

He is responsible for the "Dynamo Lab" and has contributed to the design of experimental equipment Dynasty (DYnamics of NAtural circulation for molten SalT internallY heated) and eDynasty (extended DYNASTY). These devices are designed to study the dynamics of natural circulation in the presence of distributed heat sources. He is also involved in various experimental campaigns at the Triga reactor of the University of Pavia.

Antonio Cammi is the author or co-author of more than 350 articles published in scientific journals or in the proceedings of international conferences. The main and most recent publications can be found at this link: http://www.scopus.com/inward/authorDetails.url?authorID=8290404800&partnerID=MN8TOARS. Additionally, he systematically serves as a reviewer for various journals, including Nuclear Engineering and Design, Annals of Nuclear Energy, Progress in Nuclear Energy, Chemical Engineering Science, Applied Thermal Engineering, International Journal of Thermal Sciences, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, and many others.
