Mangiulli Giovanni
The objective of my PhD research is to design and characterize essential components for superconducting cables utilized in the power transport sector. Specifically, one aim is to assess corrugated ducts for cryogen transport from both thermal and hydraulic perspectives. This process includes the design of a test facility as well as the execution of a testing campaign to compare various ducts available in the market. Additionally, the second goal is to design an innovative heat exchanger for current leads that employs a Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) lattice, thereby enhancing efficiency in terms of heat transfer and cost-effectiveness.
