Saija Alberto

I am a Mechanical Engineer graduated in April 2024. From January 2023 to November 2024, my research has focused on the study of adsorption-based low-temperature thermal desalination systems that operate based on the adsorption phenomenon. Since November 2024 I am actively involved in ATTRACT project, a European project conducted by Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with external companies. The project focuses on developing an adsorption-based technology integrated in the building façade for treating and distilling unconventional water resources, such as grey water recycling from residential buildings. My role involves developing a sodium alginate and bentonite biopolymer used in the construction of the distiller, as well as designing and testing the distillation unit. Since March 2025, I have been pursuing the PhD program in Energetics at Politecnico di Torino.
