Viarengo Sofia

I am an Energy and Nuclear Engineer, currently enrolled in the 36° cycle of the PhD program in Energetics at Politecnico di Torino. My activity is focused on the development of numerical multiphysics models for the analysis of normal and off-normal operating conditions for high temperature superconducting (HTS) components, for fusion and accelerator applications.  My first year has been dedicated to the development of electric model for electromagnetic transients in forced-flow superconducting cables for fusion and power applications. I spent my second PhD year at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley, California, USA), where I became familiar with CORC® -like cable for accelerator applications
